HOUSE independent minority bloc leader and Leyte Rep. Ferdinand Martin Romualdez praised yesterday the Muslims’ commitment for peace as he joined them in marking the end of Ramadan Monday.
“May Allah continue to shower you with his blessings and his love,” said Romualdez.
Romualdez also lauded the Muslims for their prayers and sacrifices offered to the survivors of super typhoon Yolanda
Romualdez said he and his family are thankful that the Muslim world continues to pray for lasting peace, prosperity and national unity for all Filipinos despite differences in religion and principles.
“Prayers which you have been unselfishly sharing to our countrymen all these years,” Romualdez stressed.
Romualdez also expressed his heartfelt appreciation for all the help the Muslim world has extended to his constituents who lost their loved ones and possessions to super typhoon ‘Yolanda.’
“As I have often said, the inspiration your kindness has given for them to move on with their lives is immeasurable. You will always be in our prayers,” he said.
“We are certain that Allah is smiling down on you now,” Romualdez said.
The Leyte lawmaker urged all Muslims to continue participating in any and all programs that promote peace, national unity and economic progress.
“Together, let’s pursue our common dream of lasting peace and prosperity, not only for ourselves but for our children, and the generations that will follow us,” Romualdez added.
